A competition, held at the end of 2009 working throughout Badenoch and Strathspey’s schools asked local children to create a new logo, drawing inspiration from the Strath and the project plans, which could move the project forward.
The winner was 9-year old Callum Bremner of Grantown Primary School, his design featured the word Aviemore spelt out with each letter portraying a sport. The logo was unveiled at an open day held at the Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort on Sunday 29th November 2009 and there were over 160 entries on display. More than 250 people attended the event which was opened by local MP Danny Alexander and entertainment was provided by Aviemore Allstars and local clubs were also given an opportunity to showcase their own clubs.
We are extremely excited about the new logo and the potential it has to increase awareness of the ASC project.
The new logo is a positive step in helping us develop a more progressive image for the future and we are now looking at merchandise that will allow us to get our logo into the local retail market and assist in raising project funds. Merchandise will also be available to buy on-line at www.aviemoresportscentre.com
